The YSRCP has intensified its battle for special category status for Andhra Pradesh. The party has now decided to move a No Confidence Motion against the Modi Government on the issue on March 16. The YSRCP MPs have met leaders of the BJP, TDP and the TRS MPs and sought their support.
The YSRCP is upset that despite its best efforts, the issue could not be discussed in the house. It feels that 15 days have elapsed, but the Centre has not allowed a discussion. Knowing that there is a possibility of the Lok Sabha would be adjourned much before the actual date of adjournment. So, changing its strategy, the YSRCP has preponed the tabling of no confidence motion from March 21 to March 16.
The YSRCP MPs have met leaders like Bhartihari Mehtab of the BJD, Thota Narasimham of the TDP and Jitender Reddy of the TRS seeking their support for the no confidence motion. In an another move, the YSRCP MPs are planning to resign on the day the parliament is adjourned.
